Experiments with PVC Pipe

The above figure represents a PVC pipe section.
(It is actually a small angle PVC elbow.)

The gray epoxy represents the co-extruded PVC which contains embedded 14 gauge wires.

Small nails are hammered into the flush ends of the wires to enable electrical contact with the PVC coupler. The actual nails will have a shape that limits their insertion depth into the wires.

The figure above is a closeup of springy electrical contacts that have been attached to a PVC coupler. The nails in the top picture press against the contact surfaces and complete an electric circuit with wires that (will) attach to the springy electrical contacts.

The picture above shows the nails making contact with the springy electrical conductors. The resistance of the contacts is very low.
